Exciting Announcements for the Collegiate Chess League’s Third Annual Summer Season!

The Collegiate Chess League is gearing up for an exciting summer season, proudly presented by Susquehanna, a leading quantitative trading firm. The 2024 summer season will feature the return of the bullet and Bughouse college championships, as well as the addition of a new team chess battle tournament.

The championship matches will span four weeks, starting with the bullet championship qualifiers on July 13 and culminating in the finals on July 14. The Bughouse championship will follow the next week, starting on July 20 and ending with the finals on July 28. The first-ever college team chess battle championship will kick off on August 3 and conclude the following day on August 4.

In addition to these championships, the CCL will also host weekly prize arenas every Thursday, with matches streamed live on their Twitch and YouTube channels. Colleges from around the world are invited to compete for prizes each week, with the top 10 schools in the College Ambassador Program receiving diamond memberships.

The CCL aims to make these championships a tradition during the off-season to grow the college chess community. Registration for the 2024-2025 season will open in August, with more details to be announced in partnership with NACE, the largest collegiate esports league in North America.

Prizes for the championships include premium memberships from Chess.com and JBL Clip speaker prizes from Susquehanna for the champions of each event. College chess clubs participating in the College Ambassador Program are also eligible for extra memberships.

Registration is now open for each event, with forms available for the bullet, Bughouse, and team chess battle championships. Full details, prizes, and rules for the 2024 summer season can be found on the CCL website.

Don’t miss out on the action and be sure to join the bullet and Bughouse club pages on Chess.com once you register. Stay up to date on all announcements by joining the CCL Discord server. For any questions, reach out to League Commissioner Joe Lee at ccl@chess.com or on Discord at joebruin96.

Susquehanna is also gearing up for their recruiting season, offering internship opportunities for those interested in quantitative trading.
