Magnus Carlsen emerged victorious at the Tata Steel Chess India tournament in Kolkata, but it wasn’t without its fair share of drama and excitement. The world champion faced tough competition from the likes of Arjun Erigaisi and Wesley So, who kept the pressure on until the very end.
Despite a setback with a defeat to Erigaisi, Carlsen managed to maintain his lead and secure the title with 13 points. So, who won six of the last eight games, finished as the runner-up with 11.5 points, while Erigaisi settled for third place with 10.5 points.
