The first Titled Tuesdays of 2025 kicked off on January 7 with a bang, featuring a record-breaking number of participants, high scores, and intense competition as players vied for a chance to qualify for the 2025 Speed Chess Championships through the newly introduced Titled Tuesday Grand Prix.

Grandmaster Jose Martinez stole the show in the early tournament, scoring an impressive 10.5/11 to secure victory in the largest Titled Tuesday since June 2020. Martinez’s stellar performance put him in the lead for the Titled Tuesday Grand Prix, giving him an early advantage in the race to qualify for the Speed Chess Championship.
