City of Coconut Creek Launches Instructional Chess Club for Kids
The City of Coconut Creek is gearing up to sharpen the minds of young residents with the launch of its Instructional Chess Club for kids. The program, open to elementary school students aged 6 to 11, aims to cater to players of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced enthusiasts.
Scheduled to run every Wednesday from February 5 through March 12 at the city’s Recreation Complex, the club will provide a platform for children to learn the rules and basic strategies of the game. Staff members will be on hand to guide beginners, ensuring an inclusive environment for all participants.
With a limited capacity of just eight participants, the program offers a personalized experience for attendees. The cost is $20 for Coconut Creek residents and $30 for non-residents, with payment accepted via credit card. Registration is ongoing and can be completed online at CoconutCreek.net/WebTrac or in person at the Recreation Complex or Community Center.
