Exciting Announcement: Chess 4 The Masses Sponsored by Kick – A Tournament for Untitled Players with GM Hikaru Nakamura

GM Hikaru Nakamura and Kick are teaming up once again to bring an exciting opportunity for untitled chess players with Chess 4 The Masses Sponsored by Kick. This two-tournament event, set to kick off on January 22 at 2:00 p.m. ET/18:00 CET, promises a total prize fund of $5,200.

With very few events tailored specifically for untitled players, Chess 4 The Masses provides a rare chance for these players to compete for cash prizes. Participants can follow all the action on Hikaru’s stream on Kick and in Hikaru’s Fan Club, with the added bonus of commentary from the man himself.

The tournament will consist of two events in one afternoon, with winners determined by their cumulative score across both tournaments. The first tournament will be a 13-round Swiss of 3+0 blitz, while the second tournament will be a 90-minute, 3+2 Arena with matchups based on ratings.

To participate, players must be untitled, have an account that is at least three months old, and adhere to fair play rules. Prize sections will be divided based on player ratings at the conclusion of both events, with each category offering $1,020 in prizes.

In addition to the cash prizes, there will be special awards for achievements such as the highest number of promoted knights, the first smothered mate, and the first win with a bongcloud opening. Streamers can also vie for a $100 prize by sharing funny clips with the hashtag #kick4themasses.

Prize distribution will be subject to review by a fair play team and Team GM Hikaru, with final decisions made by the organizers. Join Hikaru’s Discord to share your clips and submit claims for the various challenges. Get ready to witness some thrilling chess action and see who will emerge victorious in Chess 4 The Masses Sponsored by Kick!
