Gukesh, Abdusattorov and Pragg score

Gukesh Dommaraju continues to dominate the Tata Steel Masters, maintaining his lead with a fifth victory in the event. His closest competitors, Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu, also secured wins in round 10, keeping the competition fierce.

Gukesh’s win against Max Warmerdam showcased his strategic prowess, as he outplayed his opponent with the black pieces. Abdusattorov’s aggressive play against Alexey Sarana paid off, while Pragg displayed strong technique in his victory over Vladimir Fedoseev.

With three rounds to go, the race for first place in the Challengers section is heating up, with Thai Dai Van Nguyen leading the pack. The ultimate prize of a spot in next year’s Masters adds extra pressure to each game.

In Friday’s round 11, Gukesh will face defending champion Wei Yi, while Abdusattorov takes on Vincent Keymer. In the Challengers section, Nguyen and l’Ami face tough challenges with the black pieces, setting the stage for an exciting finish to the tournament.
