Magnus Carlsen Addresses Rumours of GM Hans Niemann Cheating with Anal Beads on Joe Rogan Podcast

World No 1 GM Magnus Carlsen recently appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast and addressed the unsubstantiated rumour that GM Hans Niemann cheated using anal beads during over-the-board games. Carlsen dismissed the theory, stating that he did not believe it had any connection to reality.

The rumour reportedly started on a friend’s streamer channel and gained traction on social media, eventually catching the attention of Elon Musk, who tweeted about it. Carlsen explained that while Niemann had admitted to cheating in casual online games in the past, he believed that the extent of the cheating was much greater than what had been acknowledged.

Carlsen pointed to various factors that made him suspicious of Niemann’s gameplay, including his ability to switch between tactical and positional play effortlessly. When asked about how people could cheat in over-the-board chess, Carlsen mentioned the use of invisible earpieces, which had prompted increased security measures at tournaments.

Despite the lawsuit and attempts to move on from the controversy, Carlsen admitted that there is still a level of distrust among all parties involved. He emphasized that many top players, including himself, still do not trust Niemann, and the feeling is mutual.

The podcast appearance shed light on the ongoing tension and suspicions surrounding the cheating allegations against Niemann, highlighting the complexities and challenges faced in the world of professional chess.
