Dorian Thompson-Robinson Eager to Learn and Compete with Jalen Hurts, On and Off the Field

The Philadelphia Eagles have a new quarterback in town, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who is eager to learn from and compete with the team’s starting quarterback, Jalen Hurts. Thompson-Robinson, who recently joined the Eagles from the Browns as part of the return from the Kenny Pickett trade, has a unique connection to Hurts through their shared chess mentor, Seth Makowsky.

Thompson-Robinson, a former fifth-round pick out of UCLA, has a deep admiration for Hurts and is excited to soak up knowledge from the two-time Pro Bowler. He sees Hurts as a professional both on and off the field and is eager to learn from his leadership and approach to the game.

In addition to learning from Hurts, Thompson-Robinson is also looking forward to competing with him on the field. Despite a rocky start in Cleveland, where he was forced into action with shaky results, Thompson-Robinson is ready for a fresh start in Philly and is determined to make the most of his opportunity.

Off the field, Thompson-Robinson and Hurts may also face off in a few chess matches, as both players have a shared love for the game. Thompson-Robinson, who was introduced to chess by former Eagles head coach Chip Kelly during their time at UCLA, sees the parallels between chess and football in terms of decision-making and consistency.

Overall, Thompson-Robinson is excited to be a part of the Eagles organization and is looking forward to developing his skills while learning from one of the best in the game. With a mix of competition and camaraderie, the Eagles’ quarterback room is shaping up to be an exciting place to watch in the upcoming season.
