Dorian Thompson-Robinson Eager to Learn and Compete with Jalen Hurts: On and Off the Field

The Philadelphia Eagles have a new quarterback in town, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who is eager to learn from and compete with the team’s current starter, Jalen Hurts. Thompson-Robinson, who recently joined the Eagles from the Browns as part of a trade, has a unique connection to Hurts through their shared chess mentor, Seth Makowsky.

Thompson-Robinson, a former UCLA standout, credits chess with helping him improve his decision-making skills on the football field. He sees the parallels between the strategic game of chess and the mental aspect of playing quarterback. Despite his admiration for Hurts, Thompson-Robinson is ready to challenge him to a few chess matches and learn from his experience and leadership on and off the field.

Hurts, a two-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl MVP, has already made a strong impression on Thompson-Robinson with his professionalism and work ethic. The young quarterback is excited to soak up knowledge from Hurts and compete with him to improve his own game.

While Thompson-Robinson faces tough competition from incumbent backup Tanner McKee, he is determined to make the most of his opportunity with the Eagles. With a fresh start in Philly, Thompson-Robinson is ready to develop his skills and contribute to the team’s success.

Off the field, Thompson-Robinson is also a skilled chess player and is eager to challenge his new teammates to a match. With his competitive spirit and desire to learn, Thompson-Robinson is poised to make a positive impact on the Eagles both on and off the field.
