Hikaru Nakamura Reigns Supreme in Bullet Brawl, Goes Undefeated for 74 Games

GM Hikaru Nakamura has once again proven his dominance in the world of bullet chess by going 74 games without a single loss during Saturday’s Bullet Brawl arena. With an impressive record of 70 wins, four draws, and no losses, Nakamura secured the $400 first prize and solidified his status as the king of Bullet Brawl.

The podium regulars, GMs Daniel Naroditsky and Oleksandr Bortnyk, had to settle for second and third place respectively, unable to match Nakamura’s flawless performance. IM Karina Ambartsumova also had a notable 20th place finish, earning her the top women’s prize of $100.

In the community event, Cesar Frank Talledo Lagos emerged victorious with a score of 76/83 and 275 points. The next Bullet Brawl event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at noon ET/18:00 CEST.

Nakamura, who has dominated almost every edition of Bullet Brawl he has participated in, achieved a milestone by completing an undefeated run in this latest arena. Despite facing tough competition from top-rated GMs, Nakamura’s skill and consistency shone through, leaving only four players able to hold him to draws.

With his exceptional performance and rating performance of 3211, Nakamura showcased his prowess in bullet chess, executing exchange sacrifices and defensive brilliancies with ease. Even seasoned players like Eric Hansen fell victim to Nakamura’s strategic play, highlighting the world number three’s exceptional talent.

While Nakamura’s victory was nearly untouchable, second-placed Naroditsky demonstrated perseverance and skill, finishing just 15 points behind the winner after playing 15 more games.
