MUMBAI: The global chess community is eagerly awaiting one of the most anticipated matchups of the year as India’s youngest-ever world chess champion, D Gukesh, gears up to take on the reigning world No. 1 Magnus Carlsen at Norway Chess 2025. The high-stakes event is scheduled to take place in Stavanger from May 26 to June 6.

Gukesh, who made history by clinching the world championship title at just 18 years old, will now face his biggest challenge yet in the form of the formidable Magnus Carlsen. The lineup for Norway Chess includes top players such as Hikaru Nakamura, Fabiano Caruana, Arjun Erigaisi, Wei Yi, Ju Wenjun, Humpy Koneru, Anna Muzychuk, Vaishali Rameshbabu, and Sarasadat Khademalsharieh.
