Tughlakabad, October 10, 2023 — Olympian Anjum Moudgil showcased her exceptional talent at the 23rd Kumar Surendra Singh Championship, clinching the gold medal in the 50-metre rifle 3-positions event with a commanding 5.9-point lead over junior champion Prachi Gaikwad. The competition took place at the Dr. Karni Singh Range on Tuesday, marking a significant highlight in the shooting calendar.
Moudgil, who topped the qualification round with an impressive score of 590, demonstrated her prowess throughout the event. Kashika Pradhan, who also qualified with a score of 590, finished in fourth place. Ayushi Podder, despite shooting the second-best qualification score of 584, ended up in seventh.
In the junior category, Prachi Gaikwad emerged victorious, defeating Ramita Jindal by four points to secure the gold. Gaikwad had earlier topped the qualification with a score of 583, showcasing her potential as a rising star in the sport.
