International Conference on Chess in Education: Methodology and Prospects

International Conference on Chess in Education to be Held Online

An international conference titled “Chess in Education – Methodology and Perspectives” is set to take place on May 18, 2024, at 15:00 CET. The conference, organized by the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), the Chess Scientific Research Institute, and the Kasparov Chess Foundation, aims to explore the relationship between chess, cognitive science, and education.

The conference will be led by GM Smbat Lputian and will focus on the importance of chess in the development of skills such as planning, decision-making, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence. The event will be held online via the Zoom video platform.

Participants from Spanish-speaking countries are encouraged to join the conference, as efforts have been made to include them in the discussions. The conference will feature themes such as effective chess learning methods, teaching chess to people with special educational needs, chess in the preschool education system, and chess teacher training and professional development.

Those interested in participating in the conference can do so as speakers by submitting papers by April 1, 2024. The editorial board will confirm acceptance or rejection of the papers by April 10, 2024. The conference program will include plenary sessions and a round table discussion.

According to the organizers, the conference results will be published in the materials titled “Chess in Education, Methodology and Prospects”. The languages spoken at the conference will be English and Spanish.
