In a recent interaction, Vaidya revealed how Aamir Khan, who played the lead role in the film, was extremely competitive during a game of Scrabble.

According to Vaidya, during the shoot in Ladakh, the cast would often play board games to pass the time. One day, they were playing Scrabble, and Vaidya, known for his good English vocabulary, put down a word that no one knew. This sparked a competitive streak in Aamir Khan, who did not want to lose. In the end, Khan won by just one point, showcasing his competitive spirit.

Vaidya also shared how Khan would often invite the cast to hang out post-shoot at the IIM Bangalore campus, where they were staying during the filming. He mentioned that Khan would play chess with the brilliant IIM students and even beat them, highlighting Khan’s competitive and focused nature.

Despite spending a lot of time with Khan and the rest of the cast, Vaidya revealed that he would often isolate himself before scenes that required him to be rude to his co-stars, as he wanted to stay in character.

3 Idiots, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, remains a beloved film for its message and performances. The movie starred Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani, and Omi Vaidya in pivotal roles.
