GM Andrew Tang made a triumphant return to the online chess scene by claiming victory in Saturday’s Bullet Brawl tournament. Tang’s impressive performance saw him win 70 games and accumulate 253 points, securing the $400 first prize and his second title in the event. This marked the first time since March that a player not named GM Hikaru Nakamura, GM Daniel Naroditsky, or GM Oleksandr Bortnyk emerged victorious in the tournament.

In a field filled with top players such as Naroditsky, Bortnyk, and Jose Martinez, Tang showcased his attacking prowess and tactical skills to dominate the competition. His streak of 20 consecutive wins towards the end of the tournament solidified his position at the top of the standings.

Naroditsky finished in second place with 238 points, followed by Martinez in third and Christopher Yoo in fourth. WGM Aleksandra Maltsevskaya claimed the $100 best women’s prize.

The next Bullet Brawl is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at noon ET/18:00 CEST.
