World number-one Magnus Carlsen made a strong comeback on day two of the 2024 World Rapid & Blitz Team Championships, defeating GMs Daniil Dubov and Ding Liren. Despite Carlsen’s impressive performance, his team WR Chess is trailing behind Al-Ain ACMG UAE by three points.

The star player for Al-Ain ACMG UAE was GM Parham Maghsoodloo, who managed to take down GMs Ian Nepomniachtchi, Jorden van Foreest, and Timur Gareyev. Second-placed Decade China Team relied on their secret weapon, unrated Pang Bo, who has maintained a perfect score of 7/7 on the “recreational board.”
