In the Canada Open, Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden faced a tough loss in the pre-quarterfinals of the doubles event. The Indo-Aussie pair was defeated by Hugo Nys and Jan Zielinski after a close match that ended with a score of 4-6, 6-3, [10-7]. Despite the loss, Bopanna and Ebden collected 90 ATP points and $29,140.

Meanwhile, in the Challenger tournaments happening around the world, Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Vijay Sundar Prashanth reached the doubles final in Bonn, Germany, after beating the second seeds in a thrilling match. In football, the Subroto Cup saw Betkuchi High School from Guwahati secure a 4-0 victory over Navodaya Vidyalaya school from Meghalaya. The win helped Betkuchi High School advance to the quarterfinals of the under-17 girls football tournament.

In golf, Janneya A Dasanniee and Guntas Kaur Sandhu emerged as winners in the UP State Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship. Janneya topped Category A (Under-18) while Guntas claimed the title in Category B (Under-15).

On the surfing front, Tamil Nadu surfers continued their dominance at the Covelong Classic 2024, with Harish impressing the judges with his skills on the waves. The competition saw top surfers from across the country vying for a spot in the semifinals.

In squash, Velavan Senthilkumar and Anahat Singh advanced to the finals of the HCL National squash championship after winning their respective semifinal matches. The championship also saw Siddharth Parikh and Samay Wadhawan making it to the main draw of the Western India Billiards and Snooker Championship in Mumbai.

Overall, it was an action-packed day in the world of sports with Indian athletes showcasing their talent and determination across various competitions.
