Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High-Performance Centre and Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy are set to clash in the women’s final of the Hockey India Junior Academy Championship after securing impressive victories in the semifinals.

Odisha Naval Tata displayed a dominant performance in their semifinal match against Salute Hockey Academy, securing a 7-0 victory with Sheetal Yadav scoring a hat-trick. Meanwhile, Roundglass Punjab showcased their strength by defeating Ghumanhera Risers’ Academy 10-1, with Ribka scoring four goals.

In the men’s pool clashes, Odisha Naval Tata continued their winning streak by thrashing Tamil Nadu Hockey Academy 12-0, with Pritam Ekka and Sanjit Tirkey both scoring hat-tricks. Ghumanhera Risers also emerged victorious, defeating Republican Sports Club 2-1.

Namdhari XI and Bhai Behlo Hockey Academy Bhagta also secured impressive wins in their respective matches, showcasing their talent on the field.

In other sports news, Haryana is set to host the Global Women’s Kabaddi League in September, featuring teams from around 15 countries. The league aims to promote women’s kabaddi on a global scale, with countries like England, Poland, Argentina, Canada, and Italy expressing interest in participating.

In football, Mother International School will face Government Senior Secondary School in the first semifinal of the Subroto Cup under-17 girls football tournament, while Bangladesh Krira Shiksha Protisthan will take on The Prorompat Sabal Leikai High School in the second semifinal.

In the Western India Billiards and Snooker Championship, Sparsh Pherwani and Mayur Garg recorded impressive wins in the first round, advancing to the round of 32. The tournament saw some intense matches, with players showcasing their skills on the table.

In tennis news, top seeds Theo Arribage of France and Orlando Luz of Brazil emerged victorious in the doubles final of the €74,825 Challenger tennis tournament in Bonn, Germany, while S.D. Prajwal and Adil Kalyanpur clinched the doubles title in the $25,000 ITF men’s event in Brazzaville, Congo.
