Body of Missing Female Kayaker Found in Waters off Sentosa, Singapore
The body of a female kayaker who went missing on Sunday morning has been located in the waters off Sentosa, Singapore. The Singapore police confirmed that the Singapore Civil Defence Force retrieved her body at 3pm on Tuesday.
The victim was part of a group of three kayakers who set off from Sentosa towards the Southern Islands. A fourth kayaker joined them during their journey. The incident occurred when two group members capsized near some blue floating security barriers. The woman attempted to assist the man but was swept away by the currents. The man was rescued by a passing boat.
A search-and-rescue mission involving the SCDF and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore was launched. Divers, a rescue vessel, and a patrol craft were deployed to locate the woman. The MPA issued a navigation broadcast to ships in the area to report any sighting of a person in distress.
