2024 World Junior Chess Championships Event Regulations and Details

The 2024 World Junior Chess Championships are set to take place from June 1-14, 2024 at the Radisson GIFT City in Gandinagar Gujarat, India. Organized by FIDE and the Gujarat State Chess Association on behalf of the All India Chess Federation, the tournament will feature two sections: Open and Girls.

Players must be under 20 years old as of January 1, 2024 to be eligible to participate in the event. The tournament will consist of 11 rounds, with a time control of 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, and an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from the first move.

Accommodation for all participants will be provided at the official hotel, Radisson GIFT City, with options for single and double rooms available. Transportation from the airport to the hotel will be arranged for players and accompanying persons on arrival and departure dates.

Registration for USA players is open until April 19, 2024, with fees including a tournament registration fee, FIDE entry fee, administrative fee, and accommodation fee. A current US Chess membership and a USA-flagged FIDE ID are required for all USA participants.

Participants will be required to sign a waiver for participation, and are advised to check the USA State Department’s Travel Advisory website for the latest information on traveling to India.
