World Chess poised for expansion in FY24/25 in celebration of FIDE’s centennial anniversary

World Chess, in partnership with FIDE, is set to release a visually stunning book titled “Chess Players, from Charlie Chaplin to the Wu-Tang Clan” to celebrate FIDE’s 100th anniversary. The book, a collaboration with FUEL Publishing, features rare images showcasing the influence of key cultural figures on the game of chess throughout history.

Scheduled to hit shelves in September 2024, the book will be available worldwide, including at World Chess’ Club in Berlin. A limited edition of 300 books will also be released, complete with a gift box and a photo signed by a World Chess champion.

Ilya Merenzon, CEO of World Chess, expressed excitement about the book’s release, stating that it embodies the company’s mission of making chess more accessible and appealing to a modern audience. World Chess, known for organizing online chess championships, has been expanding its merchandising efforts and commercial ventures since listing on the LSE Main Market in 2023.

The company’s stock has seen a significant rally, with a forecasted revenue growth of 43% between 2023 and 2025. With a partnership extension with Algorand and plans for a new Algorand Tournament Series, World Chess continues to innovate and attract new players to the ancient game.

The release of “Chess Players, from Charlie Chaplin to the Wu-Tang Clan” marks a significant milestone for World Chess and FIDE, showcasing the enduring influence of chess on popular culture throughout the ages.
