15th Continental Women’s Chess Championship of the Americas 2024: Registration, Accommodation, and Details

The 15th Continental Women’s Chess Championship of the Americas 2024 is set to take place from November 23-30, 2024, at the Dominican Olympic Hostel in the Dominican Republic. Organized by the Chess Confederation of the Americas and the Dominican Chess Federation, this prestigious event is open to all women players from American continent chess federations.

This nine-round championship will feature a time control of Game 90 with a 30-second increment starting from move one. The champion of the event will earn a spot to participate in the FIDE World Cup, and a prize fund of $5,500 will be up for grabs, with the top eight finishers receiving a prize.

US Chess will nominate three Official Players who will receive accommodation (shared double room) and full meals at the expense of the organizer from November 23 to November 30. To be eligible for this, players must register for the event by October 18, 2024, 11:59 p.m. Central Time.

Registration for the tournament must be submitted by national federations, with a registration fee of $200 and a non-refundable administrative fee of $100. The deadline for USA players to register is October 18, 11:59 p.m. Central Time, with a payment deadline of October 25, 5 p.m. Central Time.

Players must stay at the official hotel, with rates for single, double, and triple rooms available. Airport round trip transportation will also be provided at specified rates.

While US Chess will collect registrations on behalf of the federation, they cannot accept responsibility for the health and well-being of players traveling to the event. A waiver document must be acknowledged by all participants.

For any questions regarding the tournament, players can contact Brian Yang, US Chess FIDE Events Manager. This championship promises to be an exciting and competitive event for women chess players across the Americas.
