The 16th Continental Women’s Chess Championship of the Americas 2025 is set to take place from April 30 to May 7, 2025, at the luxurious Dorados Conventions & Resorts in Oaxtepec, Morelos, Mexico. Organized by the Chess Confederation of the Americas and the National Chess Federation of Mexico AC (FENAMAC), this prestigious event is open to all women players from American continent chess federations.

This nine-round championship will feature a time control of Game 90 with a 30-second increment starting from move one. The champion of the tournament will earn a spot to compete in the FIDE World Cup, and a generous prize fund of $6,600 is up for grabs, with the top eight finishers receiving a prize.

US Chess will nominate three Official Players who will receive accommodation (shared double room) and full meals at the expense of the organizer. To be eligible for this opportunity, players must register for the event by Friday, March 28, 2025, and pay their invoice by Friday, April 4, 2025.

Registration for the tournament must be done through national federations, with a registration fee of $200 per player. A non-refundable administrative fee of $100 will also be added to all registrations. The deadline for USA players to register is Friday, March 28, 2025, with a payment deadline of Friday, April 4, 2025.

Players and accompanying persons must book and pay for their own accommodation at the official hotel, with rates ranging from $65 to $134 per person per night. Failure to stay at the official hotel may result in a penalty fee of $200 as per the event regulations.

While US Chess will assist in collecting registrations, they cannot accept responsibility for the health and well-being of players traveling to the event. Participants are required to assume all risks related to international travel.
