XVIII Continental Chess Championship of the Americas 2025 – Registration, Accommodation, and Event Details
The XVIII Continental Chess Championship of the Americas 2025 is set to take place from May 23 to May 31, 2025, at the Hotel Golden Park International Foz & Conventions in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, Brazil. Organized by the Chess Confederation of the Americas and the Brazilian Chess Federation, this prestigious event is open to all American continent chess federation players.
This 11-round tournament will feature a time control of Game 90 with a 30-second increment starting from move one. The top four finishers will earn a spot to participate in the FIDE World Cup, and a prize fund of $20,000 awaits the top 10 finishers along with various class prizes.
US Chess will nominate three Official Players who will receive accommodation (shared double room) and full meals at the expense of the organizer. To be eligible for this honor, players must register for the event by April 11, 2025, and pay their invoice by April 18, 2025. The top three USA players according to the April 2024 FIDE Standard Rating List will be selected as the Official Players.
Registration for the tournament must be done through national federations, with a registration fee of $200 and a non-refundable administrative fee of $100. The deadline for USA players to register is April 11, 2025, with a payment deadline of April 18, 2025.
Players and accompanying persons must book and pay for their own accommodation at the official hotel, with rates ranging from $455 to $655 for 8 nights. Failure to stay at the official hotel will result in a penalty fee as per the event regulations.
While US Chess will facilitate registrations, they do not accept responsibility for the health and well-being of participants traveling to the event. A waiver document outlining the risks associated with international travel is available for review.
