Apple Enhances Chess Game for Mac with macOS Sequoia Update
Apple is set to revolutionize the classic Chess game on Macs with its upcoming macOS Sequoia update. After a decade without any major changes, the game will receive a much-needed facelift with enhanced graphics and style limitations.
Originally introduced with NeXTSTEP, Apple’s Chess game has been a staple on Mac operating systems for years. The last update in 2012 brought minor tweaks, but now, with macOS Sequoia, users can expect a whole new experience.
The updated version of the game features a revamped design with brighter, more realistic textures for the board and pieces. The glossy background has been replaced by a grainy gradient, giving the game a fresh new look. However, users will now have fewer style options to choose from, with Wood, Marble, and Metal being the only available choices (Grass has been removed).
In addition to the Chess game update, macOS Sequoia will bring a slew of new features and improvements. Users can look forward to enhanced Continuity features between Mac and iPhone, a standalone Passwords app for easy password management, and the upcoming Apple Intelligence with AI-based features for the Mac.
The public release of macOS Sequoia is scheduled for this fall, with a developer preview already available and a public beta coming next month. Apple enthusiasts can expect a whole new level of gaming experience with the updated Chess game and a host of exciting features on their Macs.
