Arjun Erigaisi: The Rising Star of Indian Chess

Arjun Erigaisi, a young chess prodigy born in 2003, has been taking the chess world by storm with his exceptional performances and rapid ascent through the ranks. His recent achievements have solidified his position as one of the top players globally, showcasing his dedication, skill, and continuous improvement.

Most notably, Arjun played a pivotal role in India’s historic Chess Olympiad win in Budapest, Hungary. As India’s third board player, he delivered an outstanding performance with nine wins and two draws in 11 rounds, contributing significantly to the team’s victory. With a performance rating of 2968 Elo, Arjun earned 19.2 rating points, propelling him to a career-high world ranking of No. 3, surpassing the likes of Fabiano Caruana.

His victories at various tournaments, including the Tata Steel Challengers and the Junior Speed Chess Championship, showcased his talent and potential. With high praise from world champion Magnus Carlsen and a strong showing in international events, Arjun has firmly established himself as one of the world’s top juniors.
