Introducing Joey Votto: Chess.com’s First Baseball Bot!

Chess.com, the popular online chess platform, has just announced the exciting addition of its first-ever baseball bot: introducing Joey Votto! Votto, a six-time All-Star and former National League Most Valuable Player, is a retired baseball player who spent his entire 17-season career with the Cincinnati Reds. With 356 home runs to his name, Votto is considered one of the greatest players in the franchise’s history.

To celebrate the launch of the Joey Votto Bot, Chess.com will be hosting an arena tournament in the Chess.com Community Club on November 6 at 3:00 p.m. ET/12:00 p.m. PT. Players in the United States have the chance to win a chessboard or baseball signed by Joey Votto by participating in the tournament and playing at least 10 games. Registration opens at 2:00 p.m. ET/11:00 a.m. PT on November 6.

In addition to his baseball accolades, Votto is also an avid chess player and fan. He has been seen playing chess with former world champion Garry Kasparov and has even participated in chess tournaments in Toronto. The Chess.com team of athlete bots continues to grow, with stars from various sports joining the roster, including NBA players like Luka Doncic, Jaylen Brown, and Gordon Hayward, as well as football stars like Cristian Pulisic and Larry Fitzgerald.

Chess enthusiasts and baseball fans alike are invited to challenge Joey Votto Bot on Chess.com and test their skills against this baseball legend. Join the Community Club today and participate in the arena tournament on November 6 for a chance to win exclusive prizes. After playing against the bot, share your experience in the comments and let us know how you fared against Joey Votto!
