Introducing CheckMatle: A Chess Game Inspired by Wordle
Chess enthusiasts and puzzle lovers, get ready for a new game that is taking inspiration from the viral sensation Wordle. CheckMatle, a chess game created by 16-year-old chess problem expert Anirudh Daga and Martin Friedel, is set to challenge players with daily puzzles starting on Monday, November 25.
In this unique chess puzzle game, players are presented with a position where one side is mated, but with two or three pieces missing. The goal is to reconstruct the mate by adding the correct pieces to the board. Players can drag pieces from the bottom, place them on the board, and click Enter to see if they have solved the puzzle. The game provides visual cues to indicate if a piece is part of the solution or not, making it a challenging yet engaging experience.
If you’re curious to try out CheckMatle, a demo page with eight puzzles is available for you to test your skills. The puzzles range from positions where black or white is mated, with two or three pieces missing. This game promises to be a fun and stimulating way to test your chess knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
Stay tuned for the official launch of CheckMatle on Monday, November 25, coinciding with the start of the World Championship in Singapore. Daily puzzles will be posted on the CheckMatle page, offering players the opportunity to engage with chess in a new and exciting way. Whether you’re a chess enthusiast or simply enjoy a good puzzle, CheckMatle is sure to provide hours of entertainment and mental stimulation.
