Chess Dynamics Unveils Next-Generation Sea Eagle FCRO at Euronaval 2024 in Paris
Chess Dynamics, a UK-based company, unveiled its latest innovation, the Sea Eagle FCRO fire-control radar and electro-optical system, at the prestigious Euronaval 2024 exhibition in Paris. This new-generation system combines advanced radar technology with high-performance EO sensors to provide precision fire control for naval guns and other weapon types.
The Sea Eagle FCRO is designed to interface with ships’ combat management and gun fire-control systems, offering 24-hour long-range tracking of surface, air, and shore targets. With the ability to engage targets at ranges up to 30 km, this compact and affordable system is equipped to handle a variety of threats, including drones and fast inshore attack craft.
Mark Byfield, Chess Dynamics’ business development director, highlighted the system’s capabilities in detecting, tracking, and engaging asymmetric threats. The Sea Eagle FCRO features an advanced Ku-band FMCW Doppler radar, a thermal imager, a DLTV camera, and a laser rangefinder, all supported by Vision4ce’s DEFT software for AI-based tracking in complex environments.
With its dual-mode operation seamlessly integrating radar data with EO sensors, the Sea Eagle FCRO ensures reliable tracking even in challenging conditions. This innovative system represents a significant advancement in naval fire-control technology, offering enhanced capabilities for modern maritime defense.
