In response to the devastating flood that has ravaged the region in Valencia, Spain, Chess.com’s Spanish team organized a fundraiser to provide essential resources to those in need. The event, titled “Todos Por Valencia” or “Everyone for Valencia,” saw the participation of many prominent players and personalities, including super-GMs Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Anish Giri, and more.

The fundraiser, which exceeded its initial goal by raising over €15,000, featured a seven-hour long event where grandmasters and titled players faced off against viewers in exchange for donations. Various games, including hand and brain chess and one-vs-one matches, were played throughout the event.

Notable guests at the fundraiser included Spanish number-one GM David Anton, GM Alan Pichot, GM Miguel Illescas, GM Francisco Vallejo Pons, GM Pepe Cuenca, GM Bassem Amin, and many others. The youngest player to become an international master, Faustino Oro, showcased his skills in friendly games against other players.

Super-grandmasters like Giri, Caruana, and Carlsen also joined the event, engaging in exciting matches and interactions with viewers. The event also featured discussions on various chess-related topics, including concerns about GM Ding Liren’s recent performance.
