The internet is abuzz with a viral video of India’s chess prodigy, D Gukesh, showcasing his dance moves to Rajinikanth’s latest hit song, ‘Manasilayo’ from the movie Vettaiyan. In the video shared on his Instagram, Gukesh is seen donning a traditional red kurta, ‘veshti,’ and sunglasses, grooving to the catchy beats of the song’s hookstep alongside his family and friends.

Netizens were thrilled to witness Gukesh’s unexpected dance skills, with comments pouring in praising his versatility both on and off the chessboard. One user commended his “moves on and off the board,” while another hailed him as a “Grandmaster in dance.” Some were surprised to see this fun side of Gukesh, with one user dubbing him as “Mr. All Rounder” and another as “Mr. Do it all.”

Amidst the dance video frenzy, D Gukesh recently made history by winning the Candidates Chess Tournament, securing a spot as the youngest challenger ever for the world title. The 17-year-old Grandmaster will face off against China’s Ding Liren, the reigning world champion, in the upcoming championship later this year.

Gukesh, in a humble gesture, credited former world champion Viswanathan Anand for his success, acknowledging Anand’s academy as a significant source of inspiration and guidance in his chess journey. “Vishy sir has been a huge inspiration to me, and I have heavily benefitted from his academy. I am truly grateful to him and wouldn’t have been close to what I am now if it wasn’t for him,” Gukesh expressed.

With his exceptional chess skills and now his surprising dance moves, D Gukesh continues to captivate audiences worldwide, proving that he is indeed a force to be reckoned with both on and off the chessboard.
