The Indian men’s and women’s chess teams are on a winning streak at the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest, with six consecutive victories under their belt. As they head into the seventh round, they are set to face off against China and Georgia, respectively, with the goal of solidifying their lead and moving closer to securing their first-ever gold medals at the prestigious event.

With impressive performances past the halfway stage, the Indian teams have displayed strength, controlled aggression, and resilience, positioning themselves as strong contenders for the top prize. Leading the charge in the open section are Arjun Erigaisi and D Gukesh, who have been standout players for Team India, with Erigaisi scoring a perfect six points out of six games and Gukesh accumulating 4.5 points from five games.
