Exciting Announcement: ChessKid Youth Championships Return in 2025!

The ChessKid Youth Championships are back for their second edition in 2025, promising an exciting showcase of young chess prodigies. With a $15,000 prize fund up for grabs, the event will feature two groups competing in a double round-robin format with a blitz time control.

One of the standout players returning to defend his crown is GM Yagiz Erdogmus, who made headlines last year by becoming the youngest player to surpass the 2600 rating mark. Another player to watch out for is the young IM Faustino Oro, known as the “Messi of Chess” for his exceptional talent.

Joining them in the under-16 group are other young talents like GM Abhimanyu Mishra, GM Andy Woodward, and IM Alice Lee. In the under-13 group, players like WFM Bodhana Sivanandan and FM Ethan Pang will be looking to make their mark.

Fans can catch all the action live on Chess.com’s Twitch and YouTube channels, with live commentary by GM Ben Finegold and FM Mike Klein. Who do you think will emerge victorious in each group? Share your predictions in the comments below and stay tuned for an exciting display of chess brilliance from the youngest stars of the game.
