The ceremony began with a screening of montages showcasing Humpy and Gukesh’s journey from childhood to becoming world champions, evoking a fresh round of applause from the audience. However, the memento, initially intended as a backup placeholder for the trophies, found itself relegated to the sidelines as the glass trophies finally arrived at the event hall.
