Vachier-Lagrave once again proved to be a tough opponent for former world champion Magnus Carlsen, while Firouzja overcame Jan-Krzysztof Duda to secure his spot in the final.

In the Losers Bracket, GMs Wesley So and Ian Nepomniachtchi respectively eliminated Fabiano Caruana and Dmitry Andreikin, keeping their tournament hopes alive.
