Flash Report: Carlsen and Keymer Prevail in Winners Semifinals of Champions Chess Tour Chess.com Classic 2024

In a thrilling day of chess action, GMs Magnus Carlsen and Vincent Keymer emerged victorious in the Winners Semifinals of Division I in the Champions Chess Tour Chess.com Classic 2024. Carlsen showcased his exceptional skills by turning drawish positions into wins against GM Denis Lazavik, while Keymer secured a win over GM Jan-Krzysztof Duda.

In the Losers Bracket, GM Alireza Firouzja impressed with his performance against GM Alexey Sarana, while GM Ian Nepomniachtchi swept GM Velimir Ivic with a 2-0 score.

In Division II, GMs Levon Aronian, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Grigoriy Oparin, and Daniil Dubov emerged as the Quarterfinal victors in the Winners Bracket.

Meanwhile, in Division III, GMs Tuan Minh Le, Dmitry Andreikin, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, and Nils Grandelius advanced to the Winners Semifinals.

The action-packed day five is set to begin on Sunday, May 12, at 12:30 p.m. ET / 18:30 CEST / 10 p.m. IST.
