Defending champions GM Fabiano Caruana and IM Carissa Yip continued their winning streak in round four of the 2024 U.S. Championship and U.S. Women’s Championship, respectively. Caruana took the sole lead in the Open section after a decisive victory, while Yip extended her lead in the Women’s section to a full point.

In the Open section, Caruana showcased his elite grandmaster skills by securing a win against GM Abhimanyu Mishra in a major piece endgame.
