Unlock the Power of Chess Education with ECU101 – The SMART Method to Teach Chess

Chess educators looking to enhance their teaching skills have a new opportunity to do so with the ECU101 – The SMART Method to Teach Chess training course. This course, designed by leading chess educationists in Europe and validated by the ECU Advisory Board, aims to support teachers in using chess as an educational tool to develop students’ cognitive, emotional, and social skills.

The course, which was developed following the European Parliament’s declaration on the importance of chess in schools for educational purposes, introduces new teaching strategies and techniques for chess in education. It utilizes the SMART method developed by the ChessPlus team, based on years of practical experience and action research.

Suitable for teachers and tutors looking to make chess an exciting and educational experience for children, the course helps participants build their teaching skills in chess to improve overall educational attainment. With a limited number of attendees accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, interested individuals must act quickly to secure their spot.

Led by Jesper Hall, Chairman of the European Chess Union Education Commission, and John Foley, Director of ChessPlus, the two-day course will take place on January 27-28, 2024, via Zoom. Participants can expect to enhance their instructional skills, learn how to structure lessons, provide feedback, and create a supportive learning environment to maintain students’ motivation.

For more information and to register for the course, interested individuals can contact training@chessplus.net. Don’t miss this opportunity to improve your chess teaching skills and make a positive impact on students’ educational development.
