Title: 12-Year-Old Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus Breaks Record, Emerges as Chess Prodigy

In the world of chess, 12-year-old Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus from Bursa, Turkey, has made headlines by breaking GM Judit Polgar’s 35-year-old record as the highest-rated player before the age of 13. Establishing himself as one of the greatest prodigies in the game, Erdogmus recently achieved the grandmaster title at the GRENKE Chess Open, becoming the fourth youngest player to do so.

At the Sharjah Masters tournament, Erdogmus showcased his exceptional skills by finishing with 4.5 points, including impressive performances against top-rated GMs. Despite his success, Erdogmus remains unsatisfied, showing his determination to continue improving.

Erdogmus credits his success to his coaches, including super-GM Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and GM Evgeny Romanov. Romanov, a former World Youth Champion, has been working with Erdogmus since 2022 and has been impressed by the young player’s talent and dedication to the game.

With a historic rating expected to surpass Polgar’s legendary record, Erdogmus has already set his sights on future tournaments, including the upcoming Dubai Open. As Erdogmus continues to climb the ranks and break records, the chess world eagerly awaits his next move.
