Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus: Youngest Player to Achieve 2600 Rating

At just 13 years old, Turkish chess prodigy Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus has shattered records once again, becoming the youngest-ever player to achieve a rating of 2600. Erdogmus, who is already the youngest grandmaster in the world, scored an impressive 8/11 points at the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest, solidifying his status as a rising star in the chess world.

Erdogmus’s meteoric rise has been nothing short of extraordinary, as he broke the 2400 barrier at just 11 years old and reached 2500 in January of this year. Now, at 13 years, 3 months, and 28 days, he has surpassed the 2600 mark, setting a new standard for young chess players around the world.

With the support of Turkish investor Evren Ucok and guidance from top grandmasters like Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and Evgeny Romanov, Erdogmus is poised to continue his ascent in the chess world. His potential has even led some to believe that he could one day reach 2800 and become a future world champion.

Upon returning to school in Turkiye, Erdogmus was welcomed as a hero, with hundreds of schoolmates celebrating his achievements. His success has not only garnered attention in the chess community but also in his hometown of Bursa, where he is quickly becoming a local legend.

As Erdogmus continues to break records and make waves in the chess world, all eyes will be on this young prodigy as he sets his sights on even greater accomplishments in the future.
