Exciting Highlights from the 2024 Madrid Chess Festival: Rozman, Oro, and More!

The 2024 Madrid Chess Festival was a thrilling event that brought together some of the world’s most popular chess players, including IM Levy Rozman and FM Faustino Oro. The tournament featured two closed tournaments and one open event, with a large number of streamers in search of norms.

Rozman, one of the organizers of the festival, was close to achieving a grandmaster norm, while Oro was on the verge of earning the international master title at just 10 years old. The festival also saw Spanish players FM Dani Tabuenca and IM Julio Suarez emerge victorious, with Suarez winning the A Group and earning his second grandmaster norm.

In the B Group, Venezuelan player Pedro Martinez claimed the title and achieved his IM title after six years of hard work. Faustino Oro, the 10-year-old chess prodigy, also impressed with his performance in the tournament.

The Open event saw IM Paolo Ladron de Guevara emerge as the winner, with Anna Cramling and Andres Guerrero also participating in the competition. Despite some ups and downs, the festival left a positive impression on all participants, with many expressing their desire to return in the future.
