Hearthstone patch 29.6 is shaking things up with the return of Buddies in the Battlegrounds game mode. Not only are Buddies making a comeback, but they are also making their debut in Hearthstone Battlegrounds Duos, adding a new layer of strategy and fun to the game.

For those unfamiliar with Buddies, they are minions assigned to each hero in the game. These Buddies can help players claim victory by providing unique abilities and advantages during gameplay. With their reintroduction in Battlegrounds and their introduction in Battlegrounds Duos, players can now utilize these powerful minions in new and exciting ways.

How do Buddies work in Hearthstone Battlegrounds?

To acquire your hero’s Buddy in Hearthstone Battlegrounds, simply press the Buddy Button. The cost of the Buddy depends on its Tavern Tier, and you can press the button twice during a game. The first press will grant you one copy of the Buddy, while the second press will give you two copies, further enhancing your chances of success.

As Blizzard announced, with Buddies now available in Duos for the first time, they have temporarily extended turn timers by 10 seconds to allow players to adjust to this new gameplay element.

In addition to the return of Buddies, Hearthstone patch 29.6 introduces 12 new Buddies to the game. These Buddies offer a variety of unique abilities and synergies with different heroes, adding depth and complexity to gameplay.
