This year, the Chess.com Puzzles Championship will be a part of the Chess.com Community Championships, kicking off the 2025 cycle of community-driven events. Following the same format as the Puzzles World Championships, the competition will consist of a day of Puzzle Rush followed by an eight-player double-elimination knockout bracket of Puzzle Battle on the next day.

If you want to participate in this prestigious event, all you have to do is send a video clip of yourself scoring at least 50 points in a 5-minute Puzzle Rush run between January 13 and 15. Players must register using the official application form to secure their spot in the competition.

Puzzle Rush is a favorite among chess fans and players, with even world champion GM Gukesh Dommaraju using it to warm up before his games. Despite its popularity, only one player has reigned supreme in Chess.com’s puzzle competitions – GM Ray Robson. With five titles under his belt, Robson is the player to beat in this year’s championship.
