“GM Hikaru Nakamura Dominates Bullet Brawl, Denies Andrew Tang Record-Equalling Four-Peat”

GM Andrew Tang Denied Record-Equalling Four-Peat in Bullet Brawl by Dominant Hikaru Nakamura

In a thrilling showdown at Saturday’s Bullet Brawl, GM Hikaru Nakamura emerged victorious, denying GM Andrew Tang a record-equaling fourth consecutive win. Nakamura’s dominant performance saw him capture his 38th title and the $400 first prize, outscoring the five-time world champion GM Magnus Carlsen by 40 points.

Tang, chasing his fourth straight win, entered the 208-player event with high hopes but faced tough competition from Nakamura and Carlsen. The first game set the tone as Nakamura defeated Tang in a nail-biting 76-move match, showcasing his exceptional skills.

Despite early setbacks, Tang fought hard but ultimately fell short, with losses to top players like Nikolas Theodorou, Nitzan Steinberg, and Matthias Bluebaum. Meanwhile, Carlsen and Nakamura dominated the leaderboard, with Nakamura eventually pulling ahead and securing a comfortable lead.

Nakamura’s impressive performance included avenging losses against Carlsen and showcasing his strategic prowess in critical matchups. With an all-time win rate of nearly 39 percent in Bullet Brawls, Nakamura solidified his status as the king of the arena.

While Carlsen continues to chase his first Bullet Brawl title, Nakamura’s reign remains unchallenged for now. The next edition of Bullet Brawl is set to kick off on April 5, promising another thrilling battle among top GMs and bullet specialists.
