Aditi, Diksha to Compete in Women’s Open at Iconic Old Course in St Andrews

Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar, two of India’s top golfers, are set to compete in the Women’s Open at the iconic Old Course in St Andrews. The tournament, with a purse of USD 9 million, marks the return of the Women’s Major to St. Andrews after several years.

Aditi, who has had a successful career in golf, will be playing her eighth Women’s Open, with her best finish being T-22 in 2018. Diksha, on the other hand, is making her fifth Women’s Open start and achieved her best finish at the 2023 edition.

Both players have faced challenges in their journey to the top. Diksha, who overcame a hearing impairment, has represented India at the Deaflympics and the Summer Olympics. Aditi, on the other hand, has numerous accolades to her name, including being the only Indian to win the St Rule Trophy in 2015.

The tournament will also see defending champion Lilia Vu aiming to replicate her previous success. The stage is set for an exciting competition at the historic Old Course, with Aditi and Diksha looking to showcase their skills and make their mark on the international golfing scene.
