Indian Chess Players Find Taste of Home in Norway: Visiting South Indian Restaurant Spisoh
Title: Indian Chess Players Find Taste of Home in South Indian Restaurant in Norway
The Indian players participating in the 2024 Norway Chess tournament have found a taste of home in a South Indian restaurant in Norway. Missing their home-cooked meals, the players, including Chess Grandmasters Praggnanandhaa and Vaishali, visited Spisoh in the city center of Norway on the first rest day of the tournament.
Typically cautious about their diet when abroad, the players indulged in dosas, chicken curry, and Kerala parotta at the restaurant. The owners of Spisoh, who have day jobs in the energy and IT sectors, launched the restaurant out of their shared love for South Indian cuisine.
This is not the first time Indian chess players have been drawn to Spisoh. Last year, chess prodigy Gukesh frequented the restaurant during a tournament, ordering his favorite aatu irachi masala. The restaurant’s chef even recognized Gukesh’s order whenever it came in.
The Indian players expressed their delight at finding a taste of home in Norway and mentioned that they would definitely be returning to Spisoh. For more news and current affairs from around the world, visit Indiatimes News.
