GM Hikaru Nakamura is shaking up the chess world with an exciting new event – Hikaru’s Kickathalon of Chess, sponsored by Kick.com. This thrilling tournament will take place on Thursday, July 11 at 12 p.m. ET/18:00 CEST, offering both titled and amateur players the chance to compete for a share of the impressive $13,150 prize fund.

The tournament will feature three different formats – blitz, bullet, and Fischer Random chess, providing a diverse and challenging experience for all participants. Players will compete in three Arena tournaments, each lasting one hour, and will be ranked based on the average of their placements across the different formats.

To be eligible for prizes, players must meet certain criteria, including streaming exclusively to Kick, promoting the event on social media, and having a minimum of 300 games played on their accounts prior to the tournament. Separate prizes will be awarded to GMs, IMs, other titled players, and untitled players, with a total prize fund of $13,150 up for grabs.
