2nd Super Knights International Rating Chess Championship 2024 – Tournament Details and Prizes

Super Knights Chess Academy is gearing up for the 2nd Super Knights International Rating Chess Championship 2024, set to take place from April 19th to 23rd in Thalawathugoda, Sri Lanka. The tournament offers a total prize fund of LKR 1120000, with the first prize being a whopping LKR 150000.

Players rated above 1900, including GMs, IMs, WGMs, WIMs, FMs, and WFMs, can enter for free. Additionally, GMs, IMs, WGMs, and WIMs with a rating above 2200 (2000 for women) will receive a travel grant of LKR 30000.

Last year, the tournament saw six Indian players – GM Deepan Chakkravarthy, IM Raahul V S, IM Kushagra Mohan, GM Swapnil Dhopade, Indrajeet Mahindrakar, and IM Anup Deshmukh – clinch a total of seven titles in Sri Lanka. This year, the stage is set for new champions to emerge.

With double rounds scheduled every day and a blitz event on April 20th, the tournament promises intense competition and exciting chess action. Players of all levels are invited to participate and showcase their skills on the international stage.
