Exciting News: Kallang Tennis Hub Opening Soon with Court Bookings Available

The new Kallang Tennis Hub in Singapore is set to open in phases starting from 15 April, with court bookings available to the public from 8 April. This state-of-the-art facility, announced during the Singapore Tennis Open in 2021, will feature seven indoor courts and 12 outdoor courts, including three show courts with spectator stands. Two of the indoor courts will be equipped with Hawk-Eye technology for line calls, making it a top-notch venue for tennis tournaments.

Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Edwin Tong, shared the exciting news on social media, highlighting that the Kallang Tennis Hub will serve as the national training center for TeamSG’s athletes. The hub will also be integrated with the Sports Hub, allowing for a wide range of events and activities to be hosted in the same precinct.

In addition to the tennis hub, the Kallang Football Hub is also in the works and is expected to open in 2024. National teams have already begun training at the football hub, which features a football-centric gym designed by sport scientists. Both hubs are part of the Kallang Alive precinct managed by Kallang Alive Sports Management (KASM), aiming to enhance Singapore’s sporting culture and provide top-notch facilities for athletes.

With the upcoming events lined up at the Sports Hub, including the HSBC SVNS Singapore rugby sevens tournament and the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup, as well as performances by global acts like Coldplay and Taylor Swift, the hub is projected to draw close to 1 million visitors in 2024. This development underscores Singapore’s commitment to sports excellence and providing world-class venues for athletes and spectators alike.
