Kevin Pryor Named President of US Chess, Outlines Vision for Future

Kevin Pryor has been elected as the 32nd President of US Chess, taking over from outgoing President Randy Bauer. Pryor, who previously served as Vice President, expressed his gratitude for the confidence placed in him by the Executive Board to lead the organization, which boasts over 110,000 members.

In a statement, Pryor said, “I am honored to be elected as the President of US Chess and look forward to working with the entire chess community to further the game we all love. I thank Randy Bauer for his leadership over the past two years and for his dedication to the organization.”

Pryor’s background in corporate leadership and his involvement in revitalizing chess in Northeast Florida make him a strong candidate to lead US Chess. He has also served as the President of the Florida Chess Association since 2018 and has been actively involved in various committees within US Chess.

The newly elected Executive Board officers for 2024-2025 include John Fernandez as Vice President, Chuck Unruh as Vice President of Finance, and Mike Hoffpauir as Secretary. Together, they aim to continue promoting and growing the game of chess across the country.

With Pryor at the helm, US Chess is poised to embark on a new chapter of growth and development, bringing the joy of chess to even more enthusiasts nationwide.
